I See You

This piece was completed using PanPastels for an bokeh underpainting on a custom cut sheet of PastelMat. Various soft pastels and pastel pencils were used to create the details. My inspiration was my own reference photo and memories of this lovely creature who graced our home for a time. I deviated from the reference to simplify some elements and change the light source. The title comes from the fact that the subject is looking at the viewer while also looking at her mirror image in the background. My goal was to create something leaned towards realism without become photorealistic.
