Beauty Day

Medium is Soft Pastel. The beautiful fall colours in the tree on the left of this painting is what I stopped to take a photo of. When choosing a scene to paint i always look for what it is that attracted me about a particular view and try to keep that idea as the focus of my painting. I could see the trees beyond the foreground tree had not yet started to show their colours so the colourful tree becomes the star of the show and the distant trees, with all the lovely shadows, and overhanging branches became the supporting actors.
