I found the simplicity of this flower and the vividness of the colors appealing and calling me. I love the way the red paper peaks through against the complementary colors. I used Pan Pastel and NuPastels as the underpainting, and added details with pastel pencils and Rembrandt, Conte and Blockx soft pastels.
