Wave, Maine
This crashing wave scene was inspired by a photograph taken by my friend, Carolyn Bachman. Carolyn Bachman has kindly shared this photo with me. I studied wave painting in a workshop with Jeanne Rosier Smith in Portland, Oregon, in 2019. Jeanne Smith taught me to capture the tubular wave shape and the way the light pierces the water. I wanted to show the eruptive energy of water. There is something universal about the power of big waves.
