This a soft pastel painting on UArt sanded Paper. I a avid hiker and strive to capture my love of nature in my painting. I do different types of under paintings depending on the subject. In this painting I first did a charcoal drawing to get my values. Then used a fixative so not to muddy the pastels. My next step was to do a pastel and alcohol wash using mostly local colors. The last step is to paint.
