Autumn on Coyote Creek

I created this following a field trip to the Lewistown, MT area. We explored some remote areas and I chanced on this delightful little creek. I challenged myself to capture the texture of this area by using a textured pumice primer ground and applying that to the paper, thus creating the texture of the tree branches, foliage and water while minimizing the texture in the sky. I love the texture that can be created in the medium of soft pastel.
