FL StoneCrab
UArt 400 Black, Caron d'Ache Pastel Pencils, Nupastels. Inspiration was the beginning of StoneCrab season here in Florida. Always worth the trapping! Challenge was the minuet details and keep the character of the crab in its environment. After the large claws were completed took time to begin the body details which were sketched out with painting upside down to eliminate 'recognition' of item and keep focus on shape. Turning upside - it worked. Slow process paid off.
