Sunset Dining

I lucked upon gorgeous lighting from a sunset as I walked past this scene of sheep peacefully grazing in a field on my way to a restaurant for dinner. I felt compelled to capture that with pastels. I used LuxArchival paper, a mix of Sennelier, Terry Ludwig and Rembrandt pastels. I think I started with a dry underpainting, blocking in the colors and blending them on the paper. This quiet scene in the medieval city of Salisbury, England will remain a warm memory.
