Unbloomed Lotus
This pastel painting was created based on a trip to the Botanical Gardens. I love the composition of the lotus laying in the middle of the leaves and the vividness of the colors. I used Nupastels as the underpainting and finished it off with a mixture of pastel pencils (CarbOthello, Derwent, Pitt, Conte) and soft pastels (Rembrandt, Conte, Blockx). This was done on Strathmore Velvet Grey Charcoal Paper.
